So how do we become limitless?

Recently, I started to listen to an audio book called limitless. It was compelling to buy it (I have an audible subscription) and start listening the same day, as I have been fascinated about the mind and how it works since I was a young girl. I spent years on CompuServe forums discussing the early stages on NLP back in 1991 along with many other subjects such as lucid dreaming, hypnosis and a whole lot more. The curiosity about hypnosis led me to training to become a hypnotherapist and learning rapid inductions and ultra depth ™ , an NLP master and my desire for learning have never stopped.

Inspiring films

There have also been films that have inspired and grabbed my attention over the years. Flatliners (the 80’s original not the remake), the Matrix (super learning part in particular) and limitless to name but a few. There are many “hidden” lessons in Star Wars and the Jedi giving us a glimpse of what is truly attainable if we really put our minds to it.

Ability of the body for rapid change

One of my earlier subjects that enthralled me was where individuals with multiple personalities could actually change their physical bodies from one personality to the other; become diabetic and non diabetic, changing eye colour, voice, and more. this led me to think that if the brain could do this in a mater of seconds, with application what else could it do?

The potential for our brains

Jim Kwik, who wrote limitless, apparently suffered from a brain injury as a child and this made him determined to find easier ways to learn and enhance his mind. In a similar way I believe that we use only a small potential of our brains and have spent years looking at ways to enhance this using NLP, hypnosis, Ultra Depth ™, paraliminal audios and making my own using my “mind machines”. I also used older versions of Heartmath ™ emwave, which helps you build heart coherence and teaches you how to relax your mind on the fly. These days I don’t use my mind machine and tend to use Neuroprogrammer for that.

I have some real go to audios, books and other techniques for different outcomes which I will be speaking about over the coming weeks and months.

Learning to learn

Getting back to being limitless, working on each area of brain enhancement is fantastic, but as Jim says, learning how to learn enhances your life very quickly indeed. So some of my focus for coming posts will start with super learning, memory enhancement and ways to make you learn faster. What did I think of the book/audio book itself? Well,l it as a great read, but because I’ve been interested in the mind for such a long time, there was nothing really new in there for me and it didn’t give you any information on how to do most of it, although there were some linked videos on his website. But I found that because I have doe Paul Scheele’s speed reading; various mind mapping (Tony Buzan mainly); memory enhancement (various books, audiobooks and videos at the end of the book I did feel a bit disappointed. No doubt if this is your first interest in how you can learn quicker and retina information this book would be enlightening though. For example there are techniques in hypnosis which can help you retain and recall information for exams etc. So all in all I would give the book a 7 out of 10. Leg me know what you think if you’ve read it.

In my other posts Im going to share with you my reviews on books Ive read and audiobooks that I have listened to, plus some helpful information on all matters mind related.

I hope that being limitless or as close to it as we can get is a passion of yours too and that you enjoy my posts. Let me know what you think!
